Happy October everybody! I cannot believe how quickly the time is passing by this year. Fall is my favorite season because of all the great options there are for activities, adventure, and of course fashion! Marc and I are headed up to New Hampshire this weekend and we’re hoping to catch the peak season and get some shots of all the foliage before the leaves all fall. Before we know it, it’ll be Halloween!

I’m a big fan of midi skirts because of how amazing they look on a figure with shorter legs ( like mine) you’d never even tell that I have shorter legs because of the illusion the midi skirt creates on my body. The top of the skirt starts at the base of my hip bone / near my belly button adding the appearance of length there, and because it cuts off just past the knees, it draws your eyes all the way down near my ankles making it look like I have super long legs (see below!)

Outfit Details : I purchased this skirt a while back at Urban Outfitters (they carry some really great body-con-ish midi skirts and this is my second) and I love the way it feels and matches with neutrals or pinks. The sheer collared black top is actually something I borrowed from my sisters closet (thanks Rebeka lol) and I’m almost positive its from TJMaxx (similar here). The heels are a recent Nordstrom Sale purchase. I love love love Sam Edelman shoes, and I wanted to switch things up a bit so I picked the grey vs. the black heels but both are gorgeous. Block heels have never been a style of shoe that I’ve gravitated towards, but let me tell you, these are SO comfortable. I might have to include them in my outfits more often! As for the hat, POPSUGAR recently sent me one of their #MustHaveBoxes and the Jack + Lucy hat was included in the box. The classic black fedora is a must have staple for fall and certainly comes to the rescue if you’re having a bad hair day 😉 (or if you have that oily Mediterranean hair that could catch fire if you stand out in the sun for too long {like mine}. . . ok that was a little much but you get what I mean!)

-Xo, Ray

[Also, if you’ve heard the song Black Betty, you know how fun the beat is and why I picked it for this outfit post title ]
