How to Make Your Bathroom Feel Like A Spa

Hey everybody! I’m currently in recovery from my weekend at the Miss Massachusetts USA pageant (FULL review to follow) sitting at my desk (fresh out of the shower in case anybody really cares about all the details) and I wanted to get on here and share a recent collaboration with one of my favorite online retailers for all things home decor!

When Lindsay, the blogger specialist at, reached out to me and asked if I’d like to write a feature for the brand – of course I said yes! Wayfair is one of my favorite websites to shop for home goods (I usually pin a lot from the website as well) and when she asked my advice for making your home feel more like a spa – I had plenty to say!

Going to the spa is one of my favorite little luxuries (that I don’t get to do as often as I’d like!) and bringing the spa to your home is simple with these easy tips.

Wayfair: What are some ways to make your bathroom feel like your own personal luxurious spa retreat?

Rachel: Going to the spa always leaves me feeling pampered and relaxed. To achieve spa-like luxury in my bathroom, I like to light a few candles and play soothing music while I’m getting ready for bed. At the spa, there is a very calm ambiance – lighting, music, and relaxing scents. Even adding in just one of those elements – such as a small candle – helps transform my bathroom.

W: Do you have a morning and evening beauty routine? If so, how important is the routine to your day?

R: My nighttime routine is critical to helping me unwind from the day’s activities. While I am washing my face and brushing my teeth, I leave a diffuser on in my bedroom to fill the air with a sweet lavender scent to help me relax once I get under the covers.

W: What advice would you give to someone who would like to create a more spa-like environment in their bathroom at home while on a budget?

R: My advice is to keep things simple and focus on the overall ambiance. Changing your bathroom’s lighting, sounds, and scent can all be done at a wallet-friendly price.

W: Which type of beauty product or at-home spa treatment are you loving right now?

R: I am loving my new set of essential oils. Just opening up a bottle of lavender or wild orange completely relaxes me and reminds me of the spa. Whenever I get a massage, I always ask my therapist to tell me about aromatherapy options to make the spa treatment even more relaxing. Having essential oils and a diffuser at home really helps bring the spa to my everyday routine.
