Hello loves and Happy Friday!
Have you ever struggled to meet your goals? Maybe it was the goal setting that was the problem. Maybe it was the follow-through. More likely than not, however, it was the consistency that did you in, wasn’t it? I too struggle with keeping consistent. Doing something, such as a blog or other passion, for work full-time can be intimidating. From first hand experience, I have found it to be very hard in keeping consistent with something that seems too “risky”. All of a sudden, the “what-if’s” start to creep into your mind and begin to weave their webs of doubt in your positive thoughts.
We have all been there.
So how do you push forward, keep motivated and ignore the whisperings of doubt? Well, for starters, just doing what you have set out to do really helps. For example, if your goal is to be a full time blogger – than you must blog full time! It sounds much simpler than it is, but just starting the process is truly the hardest part of keeping consistent. I struggle with this every single day.
Not kidding either.
Some days I feel confident and ready to take on the world. Other days, I want to crawl under a rock. Either way, I keep pushing forward. Sometimes, I like to pretend that everything is going exactly as planned (even if it isn’t). Fake-it-till-you-make-it is real in these moments. One second, I am in a state of worry, frustration and confusion and the next? Completely focused and ready to manifest my dreams into a reality. Just the single act of getting started and finishing a single item on my to-do list keeps me moving forward. The courage to keep moving forward is found in the starting moments of each task. I can choose to worry or I can choose to get to work.
Normally, I like my life lately posts to always be about what is going on in my day-to-day life; but today I wanted to share something a little bit more real with you all. What do you think? Would you like to see more of these style posts? I could talk about how amazing the Nordstrom Sale is going on right now, and how these shoes are the hottest must-have item of the Summer instead. Maybe I’ll title this post “A Glimpse in the Mind” sharing the mindset behind the blog. Thoughts?
