Hello lovelies! Happy New Year and Happy 2017!!! I hope you had a wonderful and exciting New Years Eve and I hope that you, like me, are ready to make things happen in 2017! One of the my resolutions for this year is to bring you guys LIVE content, straight fresh and ready to go as it is happening. A secondary goal that I have to compliment that initial goal is to be authentic and honest with you about what is going on in my life and how that applies to what I write or produce for the Rachel Review. One of the major ‘themes’ that I want to talk about this year on the blog is the Art of Sophistication. I have found that with today’s pop culture, we seem to have lost the desire to pursue class and elegance in our daily lives. Being sophisticated pays dividends when it comes to both your personal and professional life, and it is something that I personally tend to strive for as a young woman.
The topics that I will be diving into this year will all be approached and presented to you with sophistication as the main theme. How does the sophisticated woman dress, act, speak, etc ? I hope to be able to shed some light on the subject and let you into a world I’ve recently become enthralled with myself. To say the least, I am extremely excited for this. There is so much to talk about when it comes to being sophisticated and the fact that it seems to have become a lost art makes understanding it all the more wonderful! In a world where swearing, vulgarity, tattoos*, piercings galore*, and throwing away all sense of dignity and class has become the new norm – I’m willing to predict that being the total opposite will start to become the new “it” trend of 2017. Mark my words ladies and gentleman, old school is having a comeback!
In other news, here are some shots of one of my favorite outfits of 2016!
(* Yes, I myself have a tattoo and yes, at one point I had over 13 piercings. Do I regret them? Not necessarily. Can you be classy with them? Perhaps. Have I since stopped wearing multiple earrings / body jewelry? Yes indeed! Sophistication is an art and to be blunt, such things just do not fit the description. It is what it is!)
